Watch Valuation
Our qualified team can advise on the true value of your watch and sell it on your behalf or buy it on behalf of one of the many collector's on our database.
Watches continue to perform well and are a growth area in the market. Makers such as Patek Phillipe, Rolex, Jaeger LeCoultre and Omega are still seen as significant investments.

We can provide a watch valuation for sale, probate and insurance purposes.
Wrist watches and pocket watches are a highly popular field of collecting. Not only is a watch a practical item but as an investment it is highly desirable because a sale of a watch or clock does not incur any capital gains tax. This is one of the significant reasons why in the last twenty years there has been such a dramatic escalation in prices, particularly for men’s wrist watches and specifically sports watches. The great names like Patek Phillipe, Jaeger Le Coultre, Audemars Piguet, Omega, Breitling, Rolex and Cartier are always highly sought after and will always command a premium.
However, it is no longer just the great names that create a stir when offered for sale. Classic sports and military watches from the 1940s onwards, even by less known manufacturers like Doxa, Eberhard and Minerva, are particularly sought after, but it is still the classic Rolex that captures the headlines.
At Nicholas Muston we can handle everything on your behalf from the identification and valuation of the watch, to the eventual sale. With the dramatic rise in the value of men’s wrist watches, especially sports, military and chronographs, it is more important than ever to obtain a valuation from an independent firm before you sell.
We have a number of wealthy collectors on our database that are actively buying at the moment. Alternatively if auction is your preferred route to market, as an independent company, we can truly recommend the best auction house to go with to achieve the very best price for you.
As we work on a commission basis it is in our interest to achieve the very best price for our clients through our vast network of private collectors, dealers and auction rooms throughout the country.
If we broker a sale to a collector or dealer then we charge a 10% commission (no vat on top) on the price achieved. If we arrange the sale through an auction room then you are not charged anything extra, by way of commission, by the auctioneers but out of what they earn they pay us an introductory commission.
If you are looking to sell your watch, please get in touch for an expert valuation from a RICS accredited valuer.
