This might be via auction or a private sale which can be brokered to a collector, museum or dealer. If auction is agreed as the best route to market then we do not make a charge, as our fee is covered by the auction house through an introductory commission.

We also regularly undertake probate valuations in the Chelsea, Putney, Fulham, Kensington, Knightsbridge, Belgravia, Hampstead, Wimbledon and Richmond areas of London, for solicitors, executors and beneficiaries. Our valuations of jewellery, antiques and chattels are done in accordance with Section 160 of the Inheritance Tax Act 1984. The valuations are also fully compliant with HMRC and are undertaken sensitively and discreetly at all times, by a RICS accredited art and antiques valuer. Additionally, we provide expert advice to executors and trustees regarding valuations of chattels for Capital Gains Tax, the Acceptance in Lieu (AIL) scheme and Conditional Exemption.

Following grant of probate, we can arrange for the sale of some or all of the contents of a property either via auction or a private sale.
