Nick Muston has worked with us for several years Clearing my mother in laws house, selling jewellery and finding the best auction house for our art deco collection. The Anchor Inn, Seatown,near Bridport. An oil painting by the highly accomplished Hove artist Charles Henry Harrison Burleigh. Probably painted in the 1920s or 30s and aside from the creation of a car park the scene has hardly changed.
He studied at the Brighton School of Art and in Paris under the tutelage of Jacques-Emile Blanche. His work was exhibited at the Royal Academy and Fine Art Society and is in the collections of The Slade, UCL, Brighton Pavilion and Brighton Museum and many provincial art galleries.

Marie Antoinette’s personal jewellery box as seen at the exhibition currently running at the V & A. This was made by Martin Carlin and given to her as a wedding gift in 1770.

This was my favourite car at the London Concours at the Honourable Artillery Company. This is a Maserati 3500 GT from 1962 which resided for over 50 years in America before coming to this country in 2012.
I love these silver “Butterfield” type pocket sundials. I collected this very original example by the Paris maker Bion last week. It dates to the late 17th/early 18th century and is housed in its original fitted leather case.
As you can see it is beautifully engraved on the back and is in lovely condition overall.
I have guided it very realistically at £500-700 but hope it will do better.

Had a great afternoon at Chiddingstone Castle in Kent. The eccentric owner accumulated a wonderful and varied collection of antiques including Japanese works of art, Egyptian treasures and Jacobite pieces.
Well worth a visit.
