Vintage watches

Vintage watches and sports watches continue to be an excellent investment.
Demand for vintage wrist watches, in particular mens watches, remains unabated. Prices continue to rise particularly for sports watches, top makers, and anything horologically unusual or rare. However, aside from the great names like Patek Phillipe, Rolex and Omega, there are still interesting opportunities to purchase, at reasonable prices, good long term investments.
Most in demand are classic sports watches from the 1940s onwards which encapsulate all the attributes of style, status and engineering. Bought originally as practical and strong “tools” these macho watches, which have often had a hard life, have enjoyed a dramatic escalation in value. Try and seek out models by lesser known or fashionable makers and you could reap the rewards in years to come.
Not only are watches useable, good to look and potentially a fine investment, they don’t attract capital gains tax. With the pending threat of inflation they are definitely better than money in the bank.
