Charity Auctioneer at Rockinghorse Charity Ball

I was delighted to be the Charity Auctioneer and co-host at the Rockinghorse Children’s Charity Ball at the Grand Hotel Brighton and help to raise £60,000.

It was great to be at a fundraising ball for the first time since the outbreak of Covid-19. There was such a lovely atmosphere and everyone was so generous on the night. The funds raised this year are for various projects including paying for a youth worker to help children and teenagers suffering from mental health issues.

Exhibition quality mid 19th century piano by Erard with fine brass inlaid and ormolu mounted ebonised case. I recently valued this for probate purposes and it will probably be coming in for sale so if you are interested please DM me.

This was my favourite car at the London Concours at the Honourable Artillery Company. This is a Maserati 3500 GT from 1962 which resided for over 50 years in America before coming to this country in 2012.

I love these silver “Butterfield” type pocket sundials. I collected this very original example by the Paris maker Bion last week. It dates to the late 17th/early 18th century and is housed in its original fitted leather case.
As you can see it is beautifully engraved on the back and is in lovely condition overall.
I have guided it very realistically at £500-700 but hope it will do better.

Had a great afternoon at Chiddingstone Castle in Kent. The eccentric owner accumulated a wonderful and varied collection of antiques including Japanese works of art, Egyptian treasures and Jacobite pieces.
Well worth a visit.
