Medal Valuations

We provide medal valuations for Sale, Probate and Insurance Purposes
We were asked to sell the contents of a small 2 bedroom house in West Sussex and among the items was a Tupperware box containing a fascinating collection of medals. They were all Civil Orders awarded to a Mr Franz Johannes Gunther. As General Director of the Anatolian Railway Company he was in charge of the construction of the Berlin to Baghdad Railway. The collection totalled 16 high ranking medals or Orders from the various countries that the railway passed through. Obviously a thank you from each Head of State for his involvement.
We arranged for them to be sold in a specialist International medal auction where they were all offered as separate lots. They raised £19,000 in total with the highest price of £5000 being achieved by the medal in the illustration which is a rare Order of the Noble Bokhara, First Class Third Degree Star by Osipov of St Petersburg.
We value medals, orders, coins and stamps for sale, probate and insurance purposes.
