Paul Storr silver

Silver

A fine pair of Paul Storr silver salt cellars with gilded scallop shell bowls raised on sea creature legs have just been valued for sale purposes for a client in London. Dating from the 1820s by an important maker they were expected to realise in the region of £1000 – 1500 when they came up for auction but instead realised £2400 for our very happy client.

The Anchor Inn, Seatown, near Bridport. An oil painting by the highly accomplished Hove artist Charles Henry Harrison Burleigh. Probably painted in the 1920s or 30s and aside from the creation of a car park the scene has hardly changed.
He studied at the Brighton School of Art and in Paris under the tutelage of Jacques-Emile Blanche. His work was exhibited at the Royal Academy and Fine Art Society and is in the collections of The Slade, UCL, Brighton Pavilion and Brighton Museum and many provincial art galleries.

This was my favourite car at the London Concours at the Honourable Artillery Company. This is a Maserati 3500 GT from 1962 which resided for over 50 years in America before coming to this country in 2012.
